After meeting our guide at the West Gate of Welgevonden Game Reserve, a scenic 30-minute drive to the lodge ensues, where a delightful lunch will be served. The excitement begins immediately as we find ourselves in the heart of a Big 5 reserve, surrounded by wildlife. Join the two daily scheduled game drives or, if you prefer, unwind and enjoy the tranquil ambiance at the lodge.
Morning
Summer: start morning safari around 5.30
Winter: start afternoon safari drive around 6.00
Start your early morning with a revitalizing cup of coffee and a home made South African rusk, then embark on an exciting game drive searching the Big 5 and other animals. The safari drive will take about 3-4 hours. During the drive, we will take a coffee break with snacks. Upon return, savor a delightful breakfast served on the deck with views over the waterhole where animals come to roam.
Day time
Summer: start afternoon safari around 15.30
Winter: start afternoon safari around 15.00
Feel free to take a refreshing dip in your private splash pool, or choose to book a massage for the ultimate relaxation. Our chef will prepare a delicious lunch served at the main lodge. Enjoy your meal while overlooking the reserve. You might be lucky enough to spot some animals visiting the lodge. After lunch, join the afternoon safari to see more fascinating animals in the reserve and have sundowner drinks in the middle of the bush.
Evening
Upon returning from the drive, enjoy a mouth-watering dinner. Whether under the stars or next to our cozy fireplace, you’ll be ensured to enjoy warm and intimate evening experiences.
Days at Elephants Crossing are never the same. You will never know what sightings you will be experiencing beforehand. There might be an elephant drinking from your own private splash pool, or a pride of lions laying in the sun during your game drive. Wildlife will always surprise you.
